Proposed Budget &Tax Rate for 2009-2010 Appr= oved

The Board conducted a public hearing and discuss= ed the 2009-2010 Budget and the 2009-2010 Tax Rate. They approved a total financial budget of $2,444,048 for the 2009-2010 School Year. The Board also approved= a tax rate of $1.04 to help fund the budget.= The $1.04 tax rate is the same Tax rate as the 2008-2009 year.<= /o:p>

Amendments to the 2008-2009 Budget Approved=

Amendments to the 2008-2009 = budget were made in the amount of $110,000 to cover the Small and Rural Schools Gr= ant, increased athletic expenditures due to teams participation in post district competition, and increased payroll costs, largely due to an increase in insurance payments and substitute pay.

Coryell County Appraisal District Asks For a New Building

As a taxing entity in Coryell County, the Evant ISD approved the construction of a new building for the CCAD. Jack Wall and Mitch Fast were in attendance to explain the facility needs of the CCAD.=

Approved Adjunct Faculty Agreement for Coryell a= nd Hamilton County Extension Agents=

Each year the County Extension Agents are approved as school faculty so they can sponsor students in vario= us activities.
